On September 16, under the supervision of Guangzhou Customs, the first batch of imported exhibits for the 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) were cleared by the customs at Nansha Port in Guangzhou.
The shipment, consisting of 103 household appliances such as water heaters, washing machines, and air conditioners from Egypt, weighed a total of 6,248 kilograms, marking the heaviest single batch of imported exhibits in the history of the Canton Fair.
The appliances were produced by Unionaire, a well-known Egyptian home appliance company that holds about 35% of Egypt's air-conditioning market share, with its products primarily exported to Africa and the Middle East.
"Since our debut with our brand and products at the 112th Canton Fair, we have regarded the event as an important global marketing and promotion platform. We have now participated in 13 sessions," said Unionaire's Overseas Marketing Director. She expressed the hope that by taking part in the fair, the company can further expand into international markets beyond Africa and become Egypt's first internationally recognized home appliance brand.
The 138th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4 in three phases.Covering a total exhibition area of about 1.55 million square meters and 55 exhibition zones, it is expected to attract more than 30,000 enterprises. Exhibits will range from industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing to new energy vehicles, household appliances, and consumer products. The import exhibition area will cover about 30,000 square meters, with exhibitors from approximately 50 countries and regions.
Fast-track channels for imported exhibits and buyers have been established at key ports, including Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Nansha Port, and Pazhou Ferry Terminal. During the fair, exhibits temporarily imported under the official exhibitor list will benefit from on-site supervision and exemptions from tax guarantee requirements.
