Guangdong Intercity to link Guangzhou, Shenzhen airports as new section will Open Tomorrow!

Great news! The long-anticipated Zhuliao–Xintangnan section of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway will officially begin operation tomorrow (July 31). The new section will tighten rail links among Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhaoqing and Qingyuan, and to build a one-hour commuting circle across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Seven new stations will be built along the newly opened Zhuliao–Xintangnan section: Zhongluotandong, Jiufo, Folang, Xinlong, Zhenlong, Yongningbei and Yongningnan.

The Dongguanxi Connecting Line commenced operation on July 27, linking the Guangzhou–Huizhou Intercity Railway and the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway, and further intergrating the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway into the Pearl River Delta intercity rail network. The full line of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway will be put into through service tomorrow. It connects key hubs including Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, Zengcheng Economic and Technology Development Zone and Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, bringing greater convenience for passengers traveling between cities.
