The "Bay Society Partnership – the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Social Service Integration and Development Promotion Meeting" was recently held in Nansha, Guangzhou.

The meeting has brought together nearly 100 representatives, including social work experts, heads of social welfare institutions and frontline grassroots practitioners from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The participants held in-depth discussions on core issues such as cross-regional resource integration, joint development of livelihood programs and connectivity of cross-border services. Meanwhile, the GBA Laboratory for Integrated Social Services was inaugurated, serving as the exclusive platform for coordinated innovation of livelihood services across the GBA.

Promoting integrated and coordinated development of social services in the GBA is not only a mandatory requirement to implement arrangements on charity and welfare cooperation set out in the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but also a pivotal livelihood initiative to deliver the Nansha Plan and leverage the core positioning of coordinated development between Nansha, Hong Kong and Macao. The convening of this symposium has further advanced cross-border social welfare cooperation among the three regions from framework intentions to concrete implementation.
